At the Grant County Rescue Mission we define homelessness as any individual or family that cannot provide shelter for themselves because of substance abuse, financial difficulties, behavior problems and physical or mental disability.
The Grant County Rescue Mission works to address some of the underlying problems of homelessness, such as: substance abuse, incomplete education and inadequate skills.
Residential Program - Mountain Movers
Each individual that stays at the Rescue Mission is required to complete a ten step Mountain Movers Program. The program provides supportive Christian fellowship. It also helps to aid in becoming victorious over addictions, compulsive behavior, negative thinking, and co-dependencies; to equip with Biblical understanding and spiritual warfare strategies; to assist in the understanding how particular behaviors have affected other people; to foster responsible personal and spiritual growth and maturity; to encourage a personal walk with Jesus.
